Connect & Collaborate: Celgene's 1st Annual Breast Cancer Investigators' Forum
Summary of work
The ‘Connect & Collaborate’ forum was an exciting, innovative departure from traditional meetings. The forum brought together clinical experts, academic researchers, trial investigators and Celgene representatives to discuss unmet needs in breast cancer chemotherapy. The fully interactive forum critically examined the clinical and scientific data supporting Abraxane (nab-paclitaxel) to identify gaps in the evidence base, facilitate cross-fertilisation of research insights and share trial experience. To ensure comprehensive two-way discussions between delegates and Celgene, the programme included keynote lectures, innovative workshops, panel discussions and opportunities to present ideas for future nab-paclitaxel trials to the sponsors. The meeting met or exceeded expectations.
Judges’ comments
This was a programme that showed a deep understanding of customer needs with a bold concept that attracted an impressively high level of stakeholder interest. It was a great meeting that provided an opportunity to share the latest thinking and understanding and could be an incredible step forward if they take it to the next level. It was new and different and exactly the sort of thing the industry should be doing.
