Summary of work
A diagnosis of a progressive genetic condition can be devastating. It not only affects the individual but also their entire family. This impact is only made worse when there are limited resources – with limited representation – available to these individuals to help comprehend its implications.
Just a few years ago, this was the stark reality for people diagnosed with hATTR amyloidosis.
But we have changed that.
By collaborating closely with a diverse group of individuals from across the patient and clinical communities, we transformed patient support. We created information, resources, and content tailored to these groups that would not only answer the common questions they would have, but also be accessible to them via the channels best suited to them.
Judges’ comments
Akt Health and Alnylam have produced a really clear and solid website and digital campaign that demonstrated what they set out to do and the impact they achieved for the community really well. The judges also noted the good relationship seen with the patient organisation, as well as partnership work and the transformational way that the patient voice was portrayed in the submission.
