Sandoz BioZone – an Educational Initiative in Neurology

by Syneos Health Communications on behalf of Sandoz

Summary of work

BioZone is a pioneering educational initiative designed to elevate neurologists’ understanding, expertise in, and confidence with using biosimilar medicines. Hosted on Wolters Kluwer’s FocusOn Neurology platform, BioZone meets diverse needs of busy healthcare professionals (HCPs). The programme delivers a rich blend of bite-sized educational content from hand-drawn animation videos through an interactive case study map to a scrollytelling microsite, simplifying complex science in an interactive and engaging format via specialised microjourneys, supporting three distinctive learning scenarios:
  • Planned: structured, ‘lean-in’ learning experiences where healthcare professionals (HCPs) set aside time to learn
  • Prompted: learning triggered by real-time clinical needs during the working day
  • Persistent: ‘surround sound’ learning available throughout the day from any device
The initiative has successfully engaged over 23,000 HCPs across more than 30 countries. BioZone has been widely recognised for its exceptional user experience and high-quality content, establishing itself as an invaluable resource in advancing medical education for the multiple sclerosis community globally, and ultimately improving patient access and outcomes.

Judges’ comments

Syneos and Sandoz have created an excellent insights-based programme with impressive reach. The team set up a clear need for biosimilars in the neurology space, conducted thorough gap analysis and gave careful consideration to every channel it used. The judges thought the platform was great, with nice bite-sized content, and particularly liked the use of surveys to demonstrate behaviour change.
