Little Moments Matter

Summary of work
Dravet Syndrome is a devastating and life-limiting neurological condition affecting around 1 in 15,000 babies in the UK. It includes seizures, intellectual disability and a range of serious health issues. Being a rare condition, it is vital that Dravet Syndrome UK works to reach more families.
A campaign we deliver each year is in Dravet Syndrome Awareness Month in June. For 2024 we worked in partnership with families affected to co-produce a campaign called ‘Little Moments Matter’ to show how the support offered by Dravet Syndrome UK made a difference to families and brought moments of joy despite the challenges they face.
The aim of the campaign was to reach new families and for them to join our community. We looked to achieve this by launching a media and social media campaign to profile the stories of families with a call to action to join our community or share content.
Thirteen new families joined our community in June and July (eight in June which is the highest of any month in 2024) with most saying they found out about us through social media (60%). 46 families joined during 2024 which is the highest number in the charities’ history.
Judges’ comments
“Little Moments Matter” was a small, clever campaign. It was realistic and the patient voices really came through. The approach was very targeted and it was great to see a small charity working super hard in their space.
