Summary of work
In mid-2023 to strengthen IQVIA’s Medical Communications offering, two teams – one operating as an externally focussed Medical Communications agency and one supporting site training and engagement for IQVIA-run clinical studies – were bought together to form one IQVIA Medical Communications (IMC) agency team.
Our task was to unite two teams with similar skills and values – but with specialisations in addressing very different client needs - to form one agency achieving scale, growth, and offering development for our people.
In our first year as one team, with one set of financial goals and one strategy, we drove growth by harnessing our deep expertise in HCP engagement and education – from involvement in clinical research to launch and beyond – and launched a new, differentiated value proposition to meet customer needs. We identified a key growth driver in pairing IQVIA’s industry-recognised capabilities in evidence generation with scaled and expert evidence communication and grew this element of our business significantly. We defined a new set of agency values, pioneered a highly successful team engagement campaign, and leveraged our scale to generate operational efficiencies. In 2024 we exceeded our financial targets, added new and scaled client accounts, and achieved a meaningful increase in employee engagement.

IQVIA did really well and had a great energy. It was clear that they had rigour and strong account planning. They answered questions very well, demonstrating the good work they were doing. It was great to see that they are building on the evidence piece and were able to provide real, sensible examples. The team bought enthusiasm to the room and were a true medical affairs agency.
