Allergan Pharmaceuticals
Summary of work
Allergan is best known as the BOTOX® company but also has another six therapy areas. 2016 was a year of enterprise-wide change, with a planned-for merger with Pfizer that didn’t complete, the sale of the generics business, and 11 acquisitions.
Whilst these seismic decisions were taken at an executive level it was up to Allergan’s International Communications and Public Relations team to manage the change and Allergan’s reputation with internal and external audiences, as well as delivering ongoing product and disease awareness comms.
The four-strong team focused on the business, our customers and our people. The results? An impressive year of growth with several strategic communications programmes delivering meaningful benefits to customers and patients, and an employee base bought into the corporate journey and beginning to gel around a new ‘BOLD’ culture.
Judges’ comments
This was clearly a united team that is dynamic and passionate about their work. They had a very structured approach and obviously knew what they were doing. Faced with big challenges and changes in 2016 they displayed a great set of strengths between them - we could really feel that they’d lived the whole thing.
