Summary of work

Having had an outstanding 2021, WA’s goal was to sustain and build on that growth, while maintaining the positive and collaborative team culture so important to our ethos.

With the government in turmoil and the NHS under intense pressure, the need for robust public affairs was greater than ever. But cutting through the noise was tough.

We tackled this challenge by leaning into our strengths as UK policy experts, expanding our offer and supporting our growing team to navigate the evolving landscape with confidence and ambition.

Our newly expanded offer – incorporating research, creative and media capability – enabled us to provide the evidence-based, integrated programmes to attract policymaker attention. Results included driving up political awareness of RSV, changing the debate in diabetes, and giving patient groups the tools and confidence to speak out.

WA’s people-first approach was also needed more than ever. We proactively supported the team as the cost-of-living crisis started to bite. And we responded to their desire to deliver work with real social impact through working directly with charities working with some of the most vulnerable people in society.

This twin track approach delivered outstanding results – WA Health’s strongest year ever and an empowered, expert team.
