Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) OT Week 2023
by Say Communications for Royal College of Occupational Therapists
Summary of work
In 2023, Say Communications and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) consulted RCOT’s membership of occupational therapists (OTs) to develop the theme and concept for the organisations’ flagship awareness week, OT Week, based on challenges they were facing. The resulting OT Week 2023 campaign begins to tackle a longer-term goal of increasing awareness and understanding of occupation and occupational therapy among health and social care professionals and the people OTs support.
#OTWeek23 introduced a new, simplified narrative about occupation and occupational therapy and provided OTs with tools to break down barriers in bringing ’occupation’ into everyday interactions with clients and colleagues more confidently and regularly, and overcome inconsistencies in how occupation and occupational therapy are defined.
A week before launch, due to the geopolitical situation, we removed the campaign name and changed the materials, ensuring the narrative didn’t lose impact, and still smashed the KPIs.
