Stormbreak One Million Animation
by Hamell Communications on behalf of Stormbreak
Summary of work
One in five children in the UK has a probable mental health condition. Stormbreak are on a mission to change that.
Understanding people and their behaviours is deeply ingrained in everything we do at Hamell. Our work in mental health and our own personal experiences have made ‘improving mental health’ a goal that is close to our hearts. We felt compelled to help.
Together, we created Kai’s stormbreak story.
We harnessed the momentum from a major milestone the charity achieved last year: the completion of 1 million stormbreak activities. And while we couldn’t tell all one million stories in one video, we knew we could tell Kai’s story – a story that represents thousands of children’s experiences in learning to recognise and manage their emotions.
In this children’s book style animation, narrated by Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts, we brought to life the incredible work that stormbreak do, giving children transferrable skills, through the power of ‘mentally healthy movement’ to recognise and manage their emotions as they grow and develop.
This campaign is helping stormbreak reach more audiences and get closer to their mission: to embed mentally healthy movement in every school, for every child, every day.
Judges’ comments
The ‘Stormbreak One Million Animation’ was a lovely campaign, that had a clear aim. It was brilliant to see that they had targeted primary school teachers.
