Going Beyond Undetectable

by dna Communications for Gilead

Summary of work

In March 2016, Gilead and dna Communications delivered the Going Beyond Undetectable meeting to inspire physicians to go beyond an undetectable viral load as a measure of success, and consider the long-term health of people living with HIV.

Attended by 427 delegates from over 40 countries, the meeting was designed in partnership with a scientific committee of 20 HIV experts to facilitate learning, debate and collaboration around the future of HIV. The agenda - comprising five plenaries, an expert patient discussion, two multi-specialist debates and three masterclasses, reviewed the evolution of HIV management, highlighted disease complexities, and challenged attendees to think differently about their approach to managing HIV. In total, 10 hours of CPD-accredited content was delivered in a uniquely designed staging environment.

Through a custom-built app, delegates were able to meaningfully evaluate each session in real time. As a result of the meeting, 92% of delegates said that they were inspired to think differently about HIV; 93% agreed that they were now confident about their understanding of the long-term health complexities associated with managing HIV; 93% agreed to redefine their current treatment and management goals; and 97% agreed they had gained a deeper understanding of the data presented.

Judges’ comments

We were very impressed that Gilead were able to attract 400 HCPs to travel to their event. There was good collaboration with the steering committee on putting the content together. It was a creative event and demonstrated good use of technology.
