Summary of work
2019 marked another period of profound change for the UK, with a Parliament consumed by Brexit, an NHS struggling to balance expectation with financial reality and the wider fragmentation of political and cultural loyalties. Client need was changing as a response, moving away from traditional public affairs campaigns and geographies. Only by adapting could Lexington Health help deliver the impact clients needed.
By diversifying its offer: delivering new, creative campaigns, shifting from a reliance on the influence held in Westminster, building a market-leading offer in AI and digital healthcare, and continuing to invest in our biggest asset – our industry-leading team of consultants – 2019 became the most successful year in the 22-year history of Lexington Health.
Lexington’s strategy delivered a number of industry firsts, including the launch of the first healthcare public affairs agency in Cambridge – opened by the Health Secretary – and founding the Digital Coalition, a convening power for the digital healthcare community to design patient-centred digital policy, which reinforced its reputation as a leader in digital health. Lexington Health also significantly grew its international offer and made its first successful business steps into new global markets, all of which supported the consultancy to grow by a record-breaking amount.
Judges’ comments
The judges were impressed by the way Lexington defined their five-point development plan and their geographic expansion. Lexington’s work in understanding patients’ attitudes to digital health is an important piece of work, particularly at this time. Lexington has expanded and broadened their client base very successfully. A great cohesive and aligned team.
