Summary of work
Amie Baker is currently head of corporate communications and reporting, AstraZeneca, responsible for the diverse portfolio of global corporate communications and associated services. Amie serves as ‘chief of staff’ to the EVP HR and corporate affairs in the event of AZ Group crises, and is credited with running effective corporate affairs responses for the company, across the global corporate affairs network.Working with AZ’s CEO and senior executive team, she has crafted a new strategic narrative - the company’s guiding compass that includes a new purpose and ambition - and it has been credited by senior leaders for driving performance/engagement internally and differentiation externally. Amie played key role in step-wise improvement in the UK pharmaceutical industry’s approach to improving its reputation through roles as an executive committee member of the Healthcare Communications Association (HCA) and member of two key ABPI steering committees that reported to the board of management: the trust imperative strategy board and the external communications group. She has a proven track-record for developing high-performing communications teams (in-house and agency) and mentoring healthcare communications professionals.
