Summary of work
ELEVATE is redefining professional education in colorectal cancer (CRC) by delivering a rigorously evidence-based, needs-driven and clinically relevant programme that elevates standards of multidisciplinary team (MDT) practice across the UK. Developed with a multidisciplinary Steering Committee representing oncology, surgery, radiology, pathology, nursing and pharmacy, the programme directly addresses Clinical application and the exchange of best practice in an evolving clinical landscape, ranging from optimisation of biomarker testing in clinical practice, liver disease, young CRC patients and AI-enabled care.
Through three advanced webinars, a national MDT Network meeting and the Rising Stars leadership workshop, ELEVATE offers a structured and progressive learning journey tailored to diverse MDT needs. Each year 300 healthcare professionals (HCPs) engaged, achieving exceptional satisfaction (4.82/5), universal recommendation and strong perceived relevance. Interactive formats including case-based learning, polling and panel Q&A delivered immediate learning impact, while evaluation demonstrated measurable uplift in clinical confidence and intended practice change.
ELEVATE uniquely integrates high science content, MDT inclusivity and behavioural change methodology. It improves alignment across roles, reduces unwarranted variation and strengthens clinical decision-making. By connecting national expertise with real-world MDT challenges, ELEVATE delivers measurable, sustainable educational value, raising CRC patient care standards now and developing future capability.
Judges’ comments
The ‘Elevate’ entry demonstrated a well‑structured webinar series and rising stars programme aimed at upskilling multidisciplinary teams in colorectal cancer, with a clear focus on measurable KPIs and behavioural change. The programme’s accessibility was a key strength, being free to access and thoughtfully inclusive of younger patients and nursing audiences.
