HCP Velocity
Summary of work
The HCP Journey Tracker POC (proof-of-concept) uses AI to analyse multiple large data sources and assign individual HCPs a learning journey position, from unaware to evaluation, and track movement over time. Medical Affairs teams can fully assess holistically, for the first time, the impact of their engagements using data that they already have and speed time to next best action for overall engagement strategy and individual MSL interactions.
AstraZeneca and Inizio Medical, with technical partner Blend360, built Journey Tracker, bringing together 14 data sources, 750+ MSL notes, and over 5.4 million individual data points related to 15,000 HCPs across two years of activity for a key oncology asset. Data scientists and engineers transformed and connected data and used a combination of traditional and Generative AI to analyse engagement and insight signals, producing a learning journey stage assessment at the individual HCP level. We combined human expertise with AI and blinded expert review to design, build and validate this solution.
We delivered 74.5% stage alignment accuracy versus blinded expert review, which met our primary POC KPI. Our ultimate goal is 90% (with a clear roadmap to delivery). The model reliably reproduces learning stage assessments and is ready to be scaled.
Judges’ comments
The HCP Velocity entry was well-structured, with a robust implementation and thoughtful, compliant approach. The judges liked the concept in an area that is extremely hard to prove value.
