Summary of work
A joint partnership was formed between Abbott UK and Crohn’s and Colitis UK to demonstrate the impact of Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) on a patient’s working life and to call for timely and appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
Crohn’s and Colitis UK felt that the impact of CD and UC on a person’s working life was not widely recognised and potentially led to social and economic disadvantages. 2011 was subsequently designated as their `Year of Work’. Abbott UK was keen to build on the success of their global ‘Fit for Work’ initiative and generate data that reflected true patient experience.
