Summary of work
Executive Summary
At the World Congress of Nephrology 2025, Nexus Healthcare Education designed a congress activation that transformed a single satellite symposium into a year-long global educational ecosystem.
The initiative addressed a critical clinical challenge, managing hyperkalaemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) while maintaining guideline-directed RAASi therapy. Rather than treating the congress session as a standalone event, the programme was designed as a three-phase engagement strategy spanning pre-congress audience mobilisation, an interactive hybrid symposium, and a 12-month digital dissemination strategy.
The live satellite symposium attracted 424 physicians from 52 countries, with 82% actively participating in live polling and discussion. Knowledge and decision-making improved significantly during the session, including a 22% increase in recognition of potassium binders as a strategy to maintain RAASi therapy.
The congress activation then extended into a digital ecosystem including on-demand symposium access, downloadable infographics, and a podcast series responding to questions raised by the live audience. Over the following 12 months, the enduring content reached an additional 4,120 healthcare professionals across 38 countries, amplifying the scientific dialogue initiated at the congress.
By integrating live scientific exchange with sustained global dissemination, this activation demonstrated how congress education can act as a catalyst for long-term clinical impact.
Judges’ comments
‘Unlocking the Potential of Personalised Care for Patients with CKD’ had a clear educational need turned into a yearlong learning platform. It demonstrated measurable shifts in clinical intent and a connection to the future brief. The learning continued through the materials of this robust and solid programme.
