Tillotts LOGIC IBD ‘STARS’ Event
Summary of work
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) nurses are the first point of contact for patients with an existing diagnosis. Newly appointed nurse specialists often come from endoscopy or GI wards but they are offered little additional training, despite taking on vastly different daily interactions with patients compared to previous experience.
Tillotts Pharma UK sought to address this gap with the Tillotts LOGIC Education programme comprising an annual series of training and a centrepiece, standalone education day – the Tillotts LOGIC IBD STARS Event. Delivering engaging plenary and workshop based content alongside a peer-nominated recognition evening.
A Steering Committee (SC) of IBD nurses shape content to ensure relevance for the audience and judge the nominations for the recognition awards. Each year award recipients from the previous year’s event are invited to join the SC, keeping input fresh and dynamic.
Building on the success of previous years, Tillotts wanted to elevate the event from a content and branding perspective in 2022 to help cement it as a leading educational milestone in the IBD nursing calendar.
Feedback around the education, quality and relevance of the content was overwhelmingly positive with 100% of attendees saying they would recommend the event to colleagues.
